About The Ranch

Sand Spring Ranch is 500-acres of beautiful pastures located in Crescent City, Florida. Here at the ranch, we raise cattle and harvest two types of fertilized forage; Bermuda Grass for feeding horses, and Bahia Grass for feeding cattle, including the cattle raised at the ranch.

Sand Spring Ranch has a rich history of being a show place for cattle ranching dating back to the 80’s. Currently, we have 80 heads of cattle, 23 calves, 3 donkeys, and 2 roosters.

Two Fertilized Types of Forage

Bermuda Grass

Bermuda grass is also a warm-season hay that lies dormant in the winter, early spring has active growth, late spring to summer shows vigorous growth (peak growth months), late summer to early fall goes through a dormancy due to the abundance of heat, then fall shows another growth.

Bahia Grass

Bahia grass is a warm season forage that lies dormant in the winter, starts actively growing in the spring, has its peak season of optimal growth in the early spring/summer (abundance of leaves and stems), a summer dormancy in response to hot and dry conditions where growth slows down, and another growth in the fall.
